Anthony Bleetman is Lead Consultant in Emergency Medicine at North West London Hospitals NHS Trust, Associate Professor
at the University of Warwick and an active air ambulance doctor.
He has an established successful medico-legal
practise dealing with personal injury, use of force and pre-hospital and emergency care.
He received his PhD for work
on the development of police body armour.
He works alongside experts in use of force to evaluate the safety of physical
intervention programmes in mental health organisations, the police and prison services.
He has an impressive research
record and has established expertise in the use of restraint techniques, less lethal weapons and Taser.
He provides
medical expert opinion to the Police, Independent Police Complaints Commission and government bodies.
He serves as an
advisor to the Department of Health on disaster planning and management.
